Madeline Stevenson has been practicing traditional Irish percussive dance and music on Capitol Hill since 2013. She performs Sean-nós, old-style step, and set dancing.
She joined the Shannon Dunne Dance Company in 2016 and has performed at festivals throughout the region and nation, including Smithsonian Folklife, Irish Fest Atlanta, Reston Multicultural fest, Discovery Theater, Wolf Trap's Theater in the Woods, Southern Maryland Celtic Festival, Maryland Irish Festival, and many more.
She has performed with Billy McComiskey, Mick Moloney, Green Fields of America, and New Century American Irish Arts.
She is the 2023 U15 Mid-Atlantic Fleadh Champion and has competed three times in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann ("All Irelands"). In 2024, she became the first American to place in the All-Ireland U18 Sean-nós competition in Wexford.
In 2022, Madeline launched Sean-nós on the Hill to introduce young children to traditional Irish dance and music through instruction, play, community, performances, and local gatherings of traditional Irish artists.
